Ryan Garcia believes upcoming fight with Tank Davis could be easier than Luke Campbell bout

Ryan Garcia, the undefeated American boxer, has spoken about his upcoming fight against Gervonta Davis, stating that the fight might not be as difficult as people expect. Garcia warned fans not to underestimate his win against Luke Campbell, explaining that the fight with Davis might be easier because of the latter's height difference. Garcia revealed that Campbell, a southpaw like Davis, caused different problems because he is taller and rangier. He stated that Campbell's shots hit him at a different range and that Davis has to come up to hit him.

“You know, Luke Campbell, you gotta understand that it causes different problems, He’s a taller fighter. His shots will hit me at a different range. [Davis] has to really come up and hit me. It’s much different. It’s a much different fight. So, you never know – this one may be easier. You just don’t know. Yes, at face value he’s the tougher fighter, you know, on paper. But you just don’t know. You just don’t know.”

Garcia has only fought twice since he beat Campbell, and he made sure to face southpaw opponents, including his last fight with Javier Fortuna.

“I did that on purpose just so I could have, you know, more of a feel for a southpaw, where the punches are coming. And, you know, everything was preparation for this big fight.”

Garcia and Davis will fight at a contracted catch weight of 136 pounds in T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 22, and Showtime Pay-Per-View will televise their 12-rounder as the main event of a four-fight broadcast next month. Davis, with 28-0, 26 KOs, is considered a bigger puncher than Campbell, with a 93 percent knockout record compared to Campbell's 67 percent knockout ratio. It is also worth noting that Davis may have the advantage of the rehydration clause in the contract.
